What is a title sequence?

  1. A title sequence is the method by which films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members, or both, utilizing conceptual visuals and sound. It usually follows but should not be confused with the opening credits, which are generally nothing more than a series of superimposed text. Title sequences always immerse the audience and give them an idea of what is to come through aspects like colours, font or background movement. As seen below the title sequence from Seven uses dark colours and shows us the activities of a murderer in the background, giving us an idea about the criminal vibe of the film.
